Community Guidelines

These guidelines protect every member — across profiles, friendships, messages, events, groups, posts, coaching, and volunteer activities. They're firm, respectful, and built on care.

Respect

Every member deserves dignity.

Consent

No means no. No response means stop.

Privacy

What's shared in confidence stays there.

Inclusion

Belonging for every member.

Community care

We look out for each other.

Accountability

Actions have consequences.

Respectful Conduct

Members may disagree, but they may not harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, humiliate, bully, target, or repeatedly contact someone after being asked to stop.

Consent & Boundaries

Members must respect romantic, sexual, friendship, messaging, physical, event, and privacy boundaries. A friend request, event interaction, or conversation does not create entitlement to continued access. No means no. No response also means stop pursuing.

Friendship-First Culture

RLO is not primarily a dating app. Members may form romantic connections naturally, but may not treat every member as a dating prospect, send repeated romantic solicitations, sexualize members without consent, pressure someone to date, misrepresent friendship intentions, or use groups or events primarily for unsolicited romantic pursuit.

Anti-Harassment & Discrimination

No harassment or discrimination based on protected characteristics or community identities. No slurs, hate speech, dehumanizing language, targeted hostility, exclusionary harassment, deliberate misgendering used to harass, or threats of outing someone.

Privacy

Members may not share private messages without permission (except when reporting safety concerns), post someone's private information, reveal someone's location, out someone, share event attendee information outside the intended audience, impersonate another person, or record private sessions without consent.

Events

Attendees must follow host instructions, respect venue rules, avoid disruptive behavior, respect alcohol and substance policies, leave when asked by an authorized host, report serious concerns appropriately, and avoid pressuring others for transportation, housing, money, or personal access.

Groups & Discussions

No spam, repeated self-promotion, unapproved commercial solicitation, manipulative recruiting, misinformation presented as professional medical advice, personal attacks, derailing support conversations, or sharing graphic content without warning.

Mental-Health Discussions

Members may share lived experiences and peer support. Members may not diagnose others, present themselves as licensed professionals unless verified, or represent coaching as therapy. Emergency situations must be directed to appropriate emergency or crisis resources. Members must not encourage self-harm or dangerous behavior.

Financial Conduct

No scams, fraud, loan or investment solicitation without authorization, multi-level marketing recruitment, pressure to send money, selling access to other members, or misrepresenting services.

Authentic Identity

No fake accounts, catfishing, impersonation, deceptive relationship status, or misrepresentation of professional credentials or event-host status.

Enforcement

Violations may result in:

Content removalWarningFeature restrictionEvent restrictionTemporary suspensionPermanent removalLaw-enforcement referral when legally necessary

Enforcement is based on severity, pattern of behavior, context, evidence, safety risk, and previous violations. We don't promise that every report results in punishment — but every report is reviewed.

Appeals

If you believe a moderation decision was wrong, you can appeal through the Safety Center. Include your case number, the reason for your appeal, and any supporting information. Not every action is appealable; eligible decisions are clearly identified.
