The Art of Healthy Communication

By RLO Coaching Team

Practical techniques for expressing needs, listening deeply, and navigating difficult conversations with care.

Healthy communication is the heartbeat of any relationship. It's not just about what you say, but how you listen, and the space you create for each other. Try the 'speaker-listener' technique: one person speaks while the other listens fully without interrupting, then reflects back what they heard. This simple practice builds understanding and reduces defensiveness. Use 'I' statements to express feelings without blame. Instead of 'You never make time for me,' try 'I feel disconnected when we go days without quality time.' Remember: the goal of communication in a relationship isn't to win — it's to understand and be understood.
